Fished Saturday and wind shortened the trip, we did alright for the morning but afternoon blew up. Tides were fast moving and full moon so probably didn’t help us either. Salmon was slow, managed a nice one and a couple halibut up North off the bank. If conditions were better I think we would have done better when high slack hit. Halibut license is almost done though, been a great year for us there.

Fished Friday evening - Sunday morning . Quick in and out trip but it was an absolute banger ,,fished salmon at Sutil Friday night by ourselves, 530 - 930 . Countless double headers on quality fish , we ended up only fishing the downriggers for about a hour . Put them away and fished shimano butterfly jigs and flat falls and it was even more productive . Stayed in bull harbour and anchored up the following morning at a little nub for Hali . Took a bit but when tide started changing it turned on , had our two over 120cm and 122 , and another two chickens pretty quick after that . Same story at Sutil all afternoon on the chinook! Great water aswell . IMG_2040.jpegIMG_2002.jpegIMG_1996.jpegIMG_1989.jpegIMG_2737.jpeg

I noticed 111 on the reg website says open until July 15th , what happens after?
They did that last year due to pressure from a certain group. Opened it back up a week or so later I believe. Messed up fishing at Sutil.
There are members here more familiar with how that went.

Yes that's right it was open for 2 any size then. Just don't remember what the regs in 111 from July 15 to August 1.

Headed to fish out of Bear Cove on Monday till Thursday. How are the fish looking around Duvall? Or worth the run out to Sutil?

Hey all, my second ever trip to Hardy coming next week. Did fairly well on first trip a few years ago without having to trek out to Sutil. Thinking about it for this year if the weather's right. Question is, does it blow the socks off Taylor/Airport for Hali and Ling? Is it that much better than Duvall/Castle for Chinook? What are everyone's thoughts? No guarantee of fish of course, just curious about general thoughts. Fishing 4 days.

goodness yes. it’s a long haul but we’ll worth the drive. familiarize yourself with Nahwitti bar

Yes, definitely take a trip to Sutil. Also, don't underestimate the mainland side. Plenty of spots over there worth going for all of the fish we chase.

Nice! Talking about the area north of the Millar Group or somewhere else in particular?

Bottom fish, yes. Not worth it for springs if the the slot and 1 per day is in effect IMO.

Rain, rain, rain... but coho numbers are still high.
Personally haven't seen the big springs yet though.

What are minimum height to launch at Bear Cove? We're visiting later this week and see low tides in the morning. Is ramp still OK to launch, or. Is there drop off that we need to worry about? I have 24 foot Grady, so not small but not huge either. Thanks!

Give The Bait Shack a call and ask Tony.
