I should mention there were a few other boats at Deepwater. Just trolling past one boat they mentioned they had caught three! Can’t confirm if they were chum.

also don’t overlook plumper bay. having sed that most of my chums have been caught at Seperation Head

Plumper on the Ebb is my favorite. Just hold there in the tide off the point.
Fish are often a bit deeper there - up to 100 feet.

Could they do a catch and release derby if it was non retention? It is unclear in the FN if it is closed or non-retention. Unless someone else can see it.

If they are closing it due to poor numbers, I do not feel good catching and releasing.
That goes double for chum, since you are fishing four lines with tons of flash, just a sh!tshow in the making.
Chum and Sox fisheries are meat fisheries. Some chum do fight, but nah.
