Been at Gower since 7am. 3 smalls caught. Huge breakers this morning a little better nowAnyone up around Gower point, Sechelt this morning?
I've caught Coho at all hours. Tide matters more than time of days, in my personal experience. Would love to hear what others say thoughI saw first report from Pacific Angler today on Instagram with first West Van coho.
A question to experienced Coho specialists. Is it hard to catch them around noon and evening slacks? I'm aware that Coho bite is hot till 9 AM.
Just having hard time waking up, also could be cool to go out after work to evening bite.
What’s more ideal tide the flood? Haven’t been able to scratch up a coho in Vancouver in the couple seasons trying .I've caught Coho at all hours. Tide matters more than time of days, in my personal experience. Would love to hear what others say though
Simple answer is, 5 knots equals .1 chop and 15 knots is more like .6. Enviro Canada is more about covering the basis. Windy and fishweather etc will give you their best guess based on 3 or 4 models. Sometimes they all line up, sometimes they don't. Tides play a factor as well as wind direction. Predicting sea conditions is tricky. I've seen them all be off by quite a bit.Enviro Canada is forecasting NW 5-15 winds for Thurs, Fri and Sat. When I check windy for chop on those 3 days, I get 0.1M for Thurs and Friday but then get 0.6M-0.7M for Saturday. If all 3 days have the same forecast why the heck is Saturday looking so bad chop-wise to cross the straight based on Windy's data?
I never understood how this type of incident can ever happen...see tons of videos online of vehicles ending up in the water don't don't understand how it happens...do people simply shift from reverse into neutral(thinking they got it in park) and get out of their cars? I always double and triple check it's in park and don't get out until I am certain truck isn't rolling backwards and that it is indeed in park. Not a fishing report. But a qualified captain Vanier edition report nonetheless:

Me neither. To be honest maybe best this happens at the launch before these types make it onto the water.I never understood how this type of incident can ever happen...see tons of videos online of vehicles ending up in the water don't don't understand how it happens...do people simply shift from reverse into neutral(thinking they got it in park) and get out of their cars? People just get stuck on the ramp at low tide and then the tide comes up. It's pretty simple. You need a 4x4 for most ramps and until you know, you don't know.Me neither. To be honest maybe best this happens at the launch before these types make it onto the water.
My new to me vehicle has anti rollback something built into it. Was launching boat last week and wanted to open drivers door to ensure I wasn’t dunking rear wheels and wouldn’t let me backup. Played with it after and seems it will auto park if drivers door is open while in gear or no one is in the seat.
