anyone been out fishing around nanaimo for feeders?

Does anyone know if there are any herring sales happening in Nanaimo? Seems to me there used to be down at the inner harbour some time ago, but I haven't heard of any recently. Could use some bait and smokers.

Spenta couple hours on the reef off entrance today, was flat calm. Caught 5 undersized (3-5lbs), saw lots of other undersized caught as well.

water looks good this weekend and was thinking of trying Thrasher or Entrance for winter springs. Dont see many reports here but seems fishing in great in many areas this year. Just trying to see if anyone is catching in these areas. thx

Some years nothing, but last year March 9-15

Mar. 20th: A few fish being caught off the Fingers... not as many as previous years. Down anywhere from 150 - 200 ft.
Not seeing huge numbers of herring...

Fairly steady salmon bites off entrance, trolled deep a few hours from 1030-130 today. Lemon lime flasher white/glow with green spackle hootchie
Most were off bottom 250-270 feet

I haven't heard of a halibut fishery around Nanaimo

Been out a few times lately, had some luck around Fingers earlier in the week but last couple days it dried right up for me. Seeing a few boats a mile or so offshore from fingers, how are they doing out there? Anyone?
