2021 Sidney Reports

It happened...It ACTUALLY happened!!!!

After owning this sexy boat for 232 days, spending $18,512.77 in upgrades and spending 15 fishing days at a total of 47 hours, 38 minutes and 14 seconds, I FINALLY hooked into and landed a Chinook salmon that if DFO weren’t **** for brains I could have bonked. Actually 3 of them in an hour. Nice fish too. I’ll say 9/12/13lbs big hits, feisty fish. Fairfax point 120-130 on the riggers in 140 Green Skinny g on all 3. Also a trio of Dungeness crabs for dinner. Another blank on the lings.

Remember that movie Forrest Gump where the storm smashed all the shrimping boats except Forrests? “ Aftet that shrimpin’ was easy!”

this is the first thing that came to mind. sorry;)

Late report, but headed out for halibut on Tuesday. Didn’t want to get skunked at Zero rock again so ran around to Trial Island for the tide change. Anchored up and after 45 mins dogfish showed up. 15 mins after releasing 4-5 dogfish a nice chicken hammered the port side rod. Got it in the boat and then put another hour in of catch and release dogfish. Current picked by then so I packed up and headed back to Sidney.

So I'm out today for a quick fish before family time at the beach and I thought I'd try for a catch and release nookie at Fairfax and this happened. Nowhere near the bottom on a hootchie and flasher. Solid turkey size. 30-40lbs
Awesome! I know of a few that have been caught there over the years.
