I’ve seen guys out in Sooke off Beachy Head in some pretty decent chop in a 12’ aluminum catching some nice fish! Your 16’ should be able to handle Sooke, Sidney and Victoria on decent days no problem!
Great timing on the Brentwood ramp closure, in time for the last pulse prawn opening.

I spoke with someone in the band office and asked why the ramp was closed and that it effectively closed the prawn fishery.

The person responded that they don’t care about that and it was ‘winter season’ .

Gave it a go this morning at powder warf, started getting small fish right away, put a couple hours in until the current got too strong and got 1 keeper. Headed to Moresby and headed away from the pack mid island, dropped my gear right into a large school of herring and hooked up instantly. Did a few circles and got 2 more keepers and released a few more. Cop car spoon @140’ was the hot lure. Fish were feeding on 4-5” herring
