Nothing at the flats in West Vancouver today. Coho have not arrived. Not exactly fun fishing conditions in the harbor.

Went out Saturday. Dropped crab traps along west van then went to fishing at HITW as it was the least windy area. No bites or action at hitw so we moved to Cowan and fished the east side of Bowen with no action. Went back to pull the traps and they had been fully raided. The gps coordinates where I marked the traps was off atleast 100m and there was no crabs inside the trap yet the bait had been eaten ... no crab cakes for Father’s Day...

Fishery Notice - Fisheries and Oceans Canada
Subject: FN0503-Fraser River Spring 5(2) and Summer 5(2) Chinook - Final In-season Abundance Update - June 19, 2018
This notice provides the final in-season abundance estimate of Fraser River
Spring 5-2 and Summer 5-2 Chinook.
Management of these stocks in previous years was based on an in-season
assessment of returns using the cumulative catch per unit effort (CPUE) of
Chinook caught at the Albion Test Fishery. A three zone management approach is
used to identify management actions.
For 2018, the Department indicated plans to manage fisheries based on the
lowest management zone (zone 1) given uncertainties in expected marine survival
rate, recent years of poor returns for these stock aggregates and an objective
to decrease fishery mortalities on all Fraser Chinook populations by 25-35%.
The model used to predict the return of Fraser River Spring 5-2 and Summer 5-2
Chinook uses data from the standard Chinook net fished by the Albion Test
fishery and does not incorporate catch from the multi-panel net (which is
currently fished on alternate days). The standard Chinook net is an 8 inch
(approx. 20 cm) mesh. Catch and effort data are cumulated by week, starting
the first full week in May, to provide the input to the model.
In 2018, the Albion Chinook test fishery began operating on April 22. The
total catch for the period of this update (May 6 to June 16) was three (3)
Chinook. Based on this input, the current predicted return to the mouth of the
Fraser for the Fraser River Spring 5-2 and Summer 5-2 Chinook aggregates ranges
from 21,000 to 61,000 Chinook (median value of 35,360). This predicted return
is consistent with management zone 1 where returns to the Fraser River are
below 45 thousand Chinook and conservation concerns for Fraser chinook are the
primary management consideration.
This is the final in-season update for 2018.
The Department will continue to manage Fraser River Spring and Summer 5-2
Chinook fisheries consistent with Zone 1 management actions outlined in the
South Coast Integrated Fisheries Management Plan.
Additional conservation actions have also been previously announced to achieve
the Department's conservation objective to reduce exploitation by 25%-35% on
Fraser Chinook stocks for the 2018 season. Further information on these
additional management actions is outlined in FN0428.

Hole in the wall, North of ferry terminal horseshoe bay

Hole in the Wall.
It's the stretch of water from the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal to Sunset Marina. It's a sheltered area that holds a lot of bait fish and feeding salmon. On a good day, you can probably fish it old school in a 12' tin boat with mooching rods and cut plug herring.
