Another run at the SA today.
Into fish right away. Just after daylight. 40 to 60 foot range for catching for us. Best success was out in the Shipping lane 500 + feet Three hatch Hoes .... Released a dandy 12 lb. Ho. Bonus! All red pink and silver dummies and presentations. No Blue .... As Blue makes me blue. When trying for a spring we even got a Sox on a green white combination Full size hootch with 40 inch leader. Hey when it's workin it's workin.
Caught and lost lots ...... LOL..... Three buds havin fun again, on what has been a great fishery this year.
Great to see the Com trollers having success too. Rare to see them get opportunities around here.
It's been fun and yes VERY TASTY !
Saw ya out Clint tried lining up with you but some one split the D ....... twice....... That Arima driving blindly haha.
Good luck everyone.

Today we were back out there around 8 am off the south arm! We were marking some monster schools today showing how important electronics are to find these fish and know where to put your lines at. Once in position, going over a mass like this we were getting multiple hook ups per pass. If you find a good school stay on it and you are more likely to get your limit quickly. We were using blue and chartreuse flashers and pink hoochies. Leader lengths from 22 to 26 inch were working. Also got a nice coho we released. Have to love the amazing opportunity waiting out there in the ocean. IMG_20180829_225924_001.jpg

Nothing has been decided in the SALT yet, as FM states Fraser panel meets tomorrow re SALT. This is info relating to a pending River closer ...... just to clarify.

For those getting out for a last kick at the Sox.
You will notice several Com Trollers even out in mid Straight........... Hint...... They aren't fishing there because there's no fish.
For an example, SA around the green bell. That hole usually has tons of fish marked in and around it. You can crisis cross it NSEWest various depths and zip for strikes......... Move out into the deep ....... And Vavoom!
Just saying.

Fished 2-sunset yesterday off south arm Sand Heads. 13 fish on 8 in the box released #9 over limit. 7 sockeye one Chinook. Light winds sunny skies. 50-90’ on riggers 200-300’water 20-24”leaders.

Not hot by sockeye fishing but nice to tub out.

Premo day!

IMG_4008.PNG WTF...

If your referring to the scary low numbers in area 13. Wtf indeed.

It’s just as bad in area 12, 13, and 20. Total drop off last 5 days. Either these last 7 million are really late... or they’re not there. (Or swimming low as DFO suggested but that’s a stretch...)

not necessarily a stretch. gillnetters in area 13 were commenting on this. btw there is still large fleets of gill netters and seiners working between kelsey bay and port Mcneill; have no idea how they are making out.

As I stated before the season started, these fish in 2014 never made it past the Fraser canyon. They were netted out!
The only reason why it's been good last few weeks is because of midsummer stocks didn't get targeted that bad on the previous cycle.
Now we have absolutely hammered the mid summer stock and waiting for the Adams fish that won't show because they netted the **** out of them 4 years ago.
Just another run that DFO has managed into extinction!

There r still a lot of sockeye at the mouth and approaching areas. They r still catching them in sooke. What that tell u? Should be good for coho this year. Lots more in straight then seen in many years.

NA this a.m. was good to me (finally). Had 8/9 bites. 3 of 'em came home with me.
350-400' water fishing at 75' with purple flasher and pink n glow squirts. Most bites before 09:30.

P.s. to everyone that posted reports and offered help. Thank you!! ...this has been a while coming. :)

Right on ! Another new member and Salt Chuck Angler sounds hooked !
And provides a great report to help others enjoy our fishery.
Now get out there again AB3 and tangle up with one of them big Smileys coming for the next while. Some of EM are HOGS and fight tremendously well.
Good luck to you again
