2014 Halibut

Anybody hear about the size limits for Halibut during the 2014 season? Same as 2013 or modified?

We won't know until late winter. Everything I have heard is that we could get even less TAC next year. Never know until all the numbers from this year are crunched, all the big meetings are held, and the IPHC dishes out some numbers.

Heard through the grapevine that SVIAC (South Vancouver Island Anglers Coalition) will be holding a meeting soon for rec. fishers to provide input to what the halibut and chinook sport regs. should be for next year. The plan is to then forward this input to the SFAB and the (IPHC - which SVIAC has a seat on). So stay tuned for the announcement for the meeting to take place in Victoria over the next few weeks.

Time shall tell. If it does go down what options are really even available, only 1/1 no?

Even if the quota goes down we will be fine with our current regs because we didnt catch all our quota this year
