What an awesome adventure...first off thanks to OBH for opening up the Nish Inn for a week of food, bevies and laughs.
The BCTOUGH boys did a stellar job of organizing this event from the opening captains meeting with QCOVE putting on an excellent seminar on the Friday night to having the Coast Gaurd involved as to what they thought was doable.
Thanks to the Captain Kid crew for some good times and laughs (Pakistani Trucker) as well.
I ended up fishing with Andrew (Harper44) on the Reef Raider and had an awesome time...what a sweet ride, thanks buddy...I am still coming down from the week. I also was part of the Rodzilla crew and had plenty of laughs and killed some beauty fish with the guys...NICE BOAT those Pursuits are for sure.
One of the best parts of this fishery is the camraderie between boats and crews...it is about safety, finding fish and getting home safe and sound. Fishing out to 45 to 70 miles off shore is not for the faint of heart and co-operation amongst the boats is paramount for success and safety.
Mills landing were once again working from before we left in the morning until many of us had gone to eat, drink, and recharge...thanks to Jerry and Diane for making sure our fish was finished off properly.
Met some outstanding people over the last week and got to know some others even better than I did before, popped my cherry on Albacore and went farther offshore than I ever have. Had some stellar feasts of sushi, sashimi, and deer tenderloins (Bobber yer the man). Drank some great beers (Longwood Brewery) and some cheap wine and had a time I won't soon forget....I will be back for sure.
Once again,
an epic event by the Bamfield Boys to line up such a great tournament with awesome sponsors, loads of prizes and just great organization...
To those that missed out...you know who you are...don't miss the next or you won't make it at all...this will be the BC Fishing Tournament to be at and it will sell out!
