This will be one to keep an eye on for sure, I wish them the best of luck and hope it goes off without a hitch. This way perhaps more derbies may spring up in the future as they are more "politicaly correct". I'm sure we will be hearing from those that claim the fish will die anyway or be caught upstream by native nets etc.

Hi Stones, according to the map for the derby it is just closed from the cap to 25th st. which would make the fishery station area open.They have 2 weigh boats per sector. The cap and west van up to the fisheries is off limit to keep pressure off that area. You are supposed to "call in" soon as you have a fish on the line that you think you might want weighed. You can still retain fish, if you dont count them for the derby, but limits still apply. I think that with 30 boats entered, it should end up working fine. I will let you all know after the derby. I am excited about it.
