2001 Ciera 2858 Flybridge Podding Project with twin Yamaha 250's

Looks good, but is that a Kicker Mount on the Starboard side of the Pod? Won't that be a bit in the way of the Door on the Stern? Or is there going to be lots of clearance, and I'm being delusional?
Haha the door swings into the deck. And the reason I put the kicker on that side is because the way these boats seating arrangements are when you have a few people on the boat. There can be 4 people sitting on the dinette which is the port side. Its stance is lop sides in the water. It’s drives me nuts so I’m trying to balance things out a bit. Easy enough for me to put the kicker down for people to step on the swim grid to access through the door. I just lift my leg over the gunnels. Never used the swim grid and doors. Will need to put some ultra deck on the pod though.

I’ll admit I thought the same thing as Jim but your explanation makes sense. My stern entry is on the starboard side as well and my kicker is off to port. None of this matters when you tie up in your slip on your port side like me😁

I’ll be following for your sea trial report.

Another little teaser. We are getting close.

I was going to wait til I got more done to share. But I couldn’t resist. Excuse my French and sorry to the ladies. But these are horny looking seats for the fly bridge!!! Extremely happy with the work that my lady did for us on the fly bridge. I’m sad that I won’t get the cabin seats done until August. But I cant frigging wait! Enjoy!

This is one bayliner I can’t say a single negative thing about.
She’s sexy and looks very well built!

Finally had a week in Gibsons with the boat. It’s handles like a dream! Night and day difference! The back of the dinette seats won’t get done until August and quite a few things will have to wait until next year like full clean loses canvas, diesel heater, ultra deck, hot water tank and new fridge. 45MPH at top speed. Cruising 29-31 MPH at 16.5-18.0 MPG. Burning amazing numbers for fuel efficiency if you ask me. Gets on step instantly! Couldn’t be more happy podding this amazing family boat. My wife and two little girls love it!

Wow - that looks great!

How does the kicker steering work? Its so close to the mains - how's the clearance (eg when mains are down and kicker is up, or the other way around)?
