Started out with 2 ft and a heartbeat, then went to a bike and then a belly boat. Went to an old 12ft Thornes aluminum when I bought my first truck. Traded dad for another 12 ft unnamed aluminum cause the thornes was super light. Used dads 175 Malibu for a few years till I bought my current 24ft thunderjet Alexis.
Canoe for the interior / Northern lakes and rivers growing up, then another when first settled on the Island. Tried our hand at renting the boats from Pedder Bay, that convinced us to join the club. Found a great 17' K&C that served well for 7 years, then took a bit of a break. Last year leaped back in with the 25' Raider. Canoe is still here, not getting much use though.
2007 Maxum 1800 sr3 4.3L MPI with all the bells and whistles. Not a wakeboarding boat but i could still do a backflip off it. First boat I ever operated outside of a daily rental. Bought it new after I sold my first house and thought I won the lottery.
2006 Bayliner 245 cruiser 5.0L. **** boat but got me into the cruising life.
1992 Commander 30. I'll refrain from talking about the power. Future power TBD.
Didn't grow up on boats or the ocean. Self taught fisherman and captain. Lot's of mistakes along the way.

I actually went from a 2000 542 Campion to a 1999 228G Grady White Seafarer for my last boat, it was a welcome upgrade to a slightly older boat for me. I bought the bare hull and trailer and then retooled the entire boat.
An 8' pram built by my father when I was 12 years old....... Lasted 2 seasons then the bottom of it was bombed with rocks by the
neighbour kids.
A 12' stitch and glue Kayak build from Popular Mechanics plans and made of door skins. Tough to fish out of. lasted 1 year.
And now a set of plans for a 14' stitch and glue runabout waiting for a location to build it.
P.S. Forgot one... probably the most traumatic of all my boats.
A late 1950's to early 1960's 16' Skagit with an old 35 Merc. I had the boat stored in an old barn in Sannich and was restoring it.
The barn was broken into and all of my tools and the motor were stolen along with all of the new fittings that I had for the refit.
Sold what was left of it and haven't had a boat since
