The Mac Squids in the reference guide were all solid painted but simiar or the same body style.Certainly looks like it could be one of those. Thanks for posting that
Yes side by side with my other Mac’s, they have painted backs and this is the only one that doesn’t. The foil insert is what’s most obviously different with this one but the chalk looking thing inside is something I’ve never seen before. The Mac Squids in the reference guide were all solid painted but simiar or the same body style.
I'll look through my phisical collection of Mac Squid plugs when I have time.
Google actually shows your plug and yes, it is Mac Squid. Google is your friend when researching.![]()
A #700 in 7” on the bottom is one of my favourites. First thing I’ll put out fishing UkeeNo pics but my go to's are Tomic 600 tubby and 727 classic.
Quite a few years back we ran the Tomic "Mike Pilchard" 7" at 320 feet on the rigger up off Topnot. Slayed em!!!. No one believed us when we told them the depth.A #700 in 7” on the bottom is one of my favourites. First thing I’ll put out fishing Ukee
They all work, go fast.My neighbor just dropped these off, he knew the owner of company that made them.
Might rig them up and give them a try off French Creek/LQ

I have a few plugs to strip and clean up and paint. What are the best steps to take the old finish off?
I have no idea if I am into doing this or not?!![]()
I recognize these. Top shelf in my book. Hours upon hours of care and craftsmanship to create these gems. Keep going, you have something special there.Hand shaped yellow cedar plugs
We run that plug in the7" at Winter Harbor. We call it the Mike PilchardA L'il 5'er for the structure, don't let the pilchard dots fool ya. This one is good all around Vancouver Island year round.
The original Mike Pilchard was a solid base standard classic body. Truly an effective pattern in all areas of the westcoast with or without Pilchards in the zone. The one I pictured is a custom variation using a TOMIC #94 colour pattern as a base, over a clear UV body with a iridescent inscert and a chartruse glow under belly.
