Yet another little tinny build

Little console test fit tease.
Few more evening shifts of welding on the seat and some finals.
Starting to test fit some components and get some wiring underway.
Splash down for the end of Feb?

Where are the scuppers located?
Below the pod. Channel under corners of transom lockers then vertical drop below pod. Ball scuppers over top. I’ll take some detailed pictures soon.
I managed to get a few holes drilled in between the baby’s naps. Might be a bit of a rigging process.
 
Today was a good day.

Shake down run went well, really well.

Now the clean up list continues, survey next week.

Well done, nice lines . It looks like it will be quick.

Getting adjusted to her inheritance.

I defiantly wouldn’t say the 200 is over powered, defiantly not short on power.

Was hovering around 31mph at 3800 rpm - 49 mph at 6000 on a flat lake.
Might drop the motor one hole. It’s close where it is- I could forcefully get it to blow out as is without a lot of trimming up. Might try for a choppy ride and see how that goes.

Could stay on plane down to 16-17mph, 60 gallons of fuel no gear.

Sits a bit lower in the rear then I anticipated, but scuppers were still draining with 2 bigger guys in the back corner.

Next up is kicker rigging, final wire tidying, flooring and a lot of cleaning. Followed by some time on the winter tack.

If you aren’t already doing so, before lowering one hole, try a stainless prop as they have less tendency to blow out.
 
Nice looking rig. If it’s a bit stern heavy try putting some weight up in bow. 2 of my tinnies needed that to balance them out. Last one, a Northwest I had a water tank built into bow for trim purposes.

I figured as much, once I get it loaded up with a bit more day to day gear I’m sure I’ll find a happy balance. Also was a fair bit of water in the pod after forgetting the access batches off during some rain after mounting the motor.

True- the downfall with that is I think I will want the prop a hair lower especially if floating higher. I have very little trim before all the way down before reaching cavitation. It’s very close to being absolutely perfect with just above max down trim being the sweet spot. Just worried I may loose grip in swell.
Tried back trolling aggressively into waves I created trying to force water up the scuppers and no water came in, big win there. I predicted wet feet while back trolling.
 
Did you go with Armstrong hatches on your pod? I like them better then the Tempress in terms of pressure against the Oring. I am replacing old Tempresses in my boat with Armstrong with a 1/4” raised welded circular ring to decrease leakage.
 
The bulk of the work is complete.
A few finishing details to go, but like any boat is it ever 100 percent finished ?

she runs, she catches, and she handles better then I could have expected.

Only issues so far is water getting into the pod access hatches, and a leaky fitting on the wash down-minor fixes.

flooring is 1/8” rubber mats. I bought them as a temporary until I could figure out a more permanent solution. So far they are great. They blow around a bit on the highway so potentially a bit of spray adhesive. Also nice to remove them and wash below. ( they are cut to fit since the photos ) also added them to the gunnel shelves and anchor locker to avoid any gear rattle.

I should have made the seat bigger, the leaning post portion is great the bench could have a bit more sitting area. At the time I was focused on maximizing the dance floor. We ended up with a 7’4 x 6’4 floor. Probbaly could have soared a few more inches for a bigger bench.

likely will run with a cooler across the transom wall for additional seating in the summer.

After some more water runs I am pretty happy with the prop and motor height. averaging 6-7 gph 29-33 mph 37-4100 rpm.
