Wooldridge 23' Super Sport Offshore PH "Boat Build"

Made it to the wooldridge shop on thursday morning in south seattle. Glen and Grant Wooldridge the owners took us out on the boat for a sea trial. After that I wanted to instal this Bow Guard that would help protect my Haul from rocks and salt on my trip back to Prince George. I purchased the Bow Guard from a guy in Prince George. I needed the Boat to be on my Trailer before i could install it so Glen (the owner of Wooldridge) gave me a hand installing it. and by giving me a hand I mean he basically did everything while I watched. Just goes to show you the customer service from this company when you have the owner helping you install this product that has nothing to do with wooldrigde itself. Got her on the trailer and it worked great and doesnt look to bad. Here is a couple picks of Glen Installing the Bow Guard. More picks of the trip to come.

Wow! Thats cool. Drive safe and slow. Get that beautiful boat home safe. I'm sure Glen and Grant are going to sell a couple more boats because of this thread.

Just found this pic of her on the AAB forum.

This shot just screams AWESOME!!!

Just a pic of the boat parked by Tulalip Casino while I spent a couple hours in Cabelas.

Made her home to PG without a hiccup. Bow Guard worked great, boat pulled great, roads were good. I duct tape cardboard on the windows incase of ****** roads. Cold temps, but no snow, thank god. Got stuck in traffic in Van as i had to pick something up in richmond. Had to pull over in Cache Creek to sleep at 10PM. It was -9 outside. threw the Wallace diesle heater on a quarter turn and slept in the boat, worked awesome. Woke up at 7 and finished off the drive. Got her all stored in a friends shop for the winter. Spring couldnt come soon enough. Or a halibut opening so I have a better excuse then just winter springs and crab to drive the ****** roads.

Awesome that you made her home there Wooly. Cool that you got to try out the heater when not even on the water lol. Man that thing looks bigger than 23' behind that Dodge. My boat is 23' with the pod 25' and my gal looks way smaller behind my full sized Ford.

Congrats big time on your new gal. Can't wait to see some blood on her decks. I am so jealous of that 250 Honda it's not funny. It is on the top of the list for when I have to re-power. Fishtofino has been bugging me about it too.

Cheers,
John

Thanks! I'm pretty excited! Its too bad I have to wait a few months to get blood and scales on her. How many Hours do you run your outboards until you re-power? Or do you just go till they quit? Only ever had a 115 Yammy and it never quit but the boat got too small lol.

I'll be trying to keep mine as long as I can. They will go a long time. I was just saying when it's time I will probably go with Honda again. Like JAC pointed out you will get many many years out of that Honda if you look after it.

Congrats! May you and your family/friends enjoy your boat! She is beautiful and even more rewarding, you built her! Hopefully see you in the water of the NW someday!

Aren't Wooldridge's made in Washington State?

Yes they are in Seattle. Maybe talking about the charter I will run out of it? based out of Prince Rupert and Kitimat. Anyway I would have loved to buy the boat locally but I would have paid an extra 30-40k for the same quality boat up here.

Hey folks,

Just thought I would let everyone know the maiden voyage will be march 13-15. Had to bump it back an extra day to accommodate our hali opening.

The boat has looked awesome in my buddys shop all winter. I spent more money then I wanted to, trying to get everything the way I want it. I could still spend thousands more but I might be divorced and living on the boat if I do that.

The boat comes out of the shop and heads down to get the name and reg numbers put on in the next couple days. Once its all done I will post up some pictures.

I got a go pro 3 for the boat. I have a mount on top of the roof so I should get some pretty sweet video of the trip in March. My buddy also has a older go pro we will mount on the cannon ball when we do some trolling.

The trip is mainly for king crab and Dungeness for the first two days and then hali on the 15. We will try our ling holes out as well but have never fished them this early so not sure what to expect. We will also try to get lucky with some winter springs during slack while we are out there.

Not expecting to get loads of fish but its the first trip out on the new rig.

pictures to come!

Cheers,

wooly

great boat wooly, brings back old memories,I had a 24' aluminum quite a few years ago I wish I'd never sold, lol. yours is a beauty. I actually sold mine to a guy in rupert you may know, Bill Evans, that was back around 1996 or so, he was going to use it for charters up there at the time. I think he may have turned it into a pilot house. I'll try and enclose a pic of the boat.
cheers and gl with the boat, Nicnat
