After winning every game by a mile in 1992 and 1996, the US basketball team barely won in 2000 and came 3rd in 2004. The rest of the world caught up. The same will happen in women's hockey. It could be argued that both the Canadian and US women's made greater sacrifices in their training, were much more well prepared to play a team game, and in many cases played with a higher level of puck control and skill than the men (but at a slower pace). It's not going anywhere until there is an Olympics when nobody buys tickets to the women's games, which is unlikely since the host country will always pour money into it's own program to make them more competetive. Russia should get bronze next time.
