Anyone ever run into Pacific Cod in this neck of the woods while targeting hali?

are you getting pacific cod or Alaska black cod. Up there 2 years ago one of the boats running quite far off shore was coming in with Alaska Black cod. lots of them

Yes and they taste delicious just like their east coast cousins!

Never run across one out there.... I have fished the area pretty heavy over last 5 years or so.... again, seen the commies bring in the black cod... but never seen a Grey Cod (Pacific Cod). I have seen them in Sooke Area and Duncan Area. Perhaps inside passage only? Not sure.. best of luck out there.

Agreed never seen a pacific cod in WH. We catch black cod jiggling in 1500ft of water when we can find them
