Who has Mexico on their minds.........?

I got a good chuckle out of that... but I balance it against the 16yr old Policia with m16s, and the one tons with .30cals over the cabs and the army humvees with the .50 cal. everywhere, but still the killing continue..

Acapulco is admittedly worse than PV, but still, some of the crap the police are pulling and not reported ,is unreal. Shoot first and ask questions later-- but who can blame them because if the druggies get wind of who you are, they massacre your whole family . Thats why they are wearing balaclavas. If a tourista get in the way-- too bad, such is life.

But dont think Cabo or PV is unaffected.... they are. Thats why my choice is further south..... after the wars are over, I may be back-- if I live that long. Paranoid?? There is no such thing as paranoia--ITS ALL TRUE!!! LOL

Not in Cabo or on the Baja, no tourist related deaths in 20 yrs, plenty safe. That being said, wouldn't spend to much time downtown TJ, but the Baja is safe. You don't see the big guns and young kids handling them like you do on mainland, way tougher bringing the drugs and guns up the Baja. One highway, lots of military stops and .imited crossing into the states, the drug lords take the path of least resistance.

Anyways, safe travels to all you cross into Mexico this year and if anyone is in Cabo area this winter email me up so we can hook fish and drink beer.h

Thanks BearCove. If I do make it down there I will email you. We can drink beer and talk about all the guys in Canada that are sitting at home crocheting and worrying about crossing the road:D!

Ha, Ha, funny stuff Sculpin, 50 cent Pacifico can't wait. Always have time for screaming reels and cold beer.

fished out of Cabo last Febuary on a bertram. Our captain was excellent and got us into a nice striped marlin. it wieghed in @ 151 lbs, 8'9" in length. took a portion back to the resort and the chef cooked it for our party (17 people) Had some frozen and brought it home, gave the rest to the skipper as he had use for it

Just got back from Mexico this morning, stayed down about 25Km's from Playa del Carmen.
We did see the Mexican police at checkpoints, armed to the teeth with Uzi's, M-16's, and some heavy weapons on their vehicles.
That being said, I never once felt uneasy or threatened in any way.
We did stay together, if one person wanted to go down an alley to check out a store, we all went. But I would do that downtown Vancouver as well! East Hastings scares the crap out of me!
I think the main trouble is up along the border.
We even took ATV's out into the jungle, everyone we met was nice, trying to help and laughing at my truly horrible Spanish.

Sitting in bar with wi-fi right now.... things are battening down for arrival of tropical storm "Jova".... out on Sunday in the bay, 80lb sailfish, and 10 dorado between 7 - 9:30 am. all on liveys.
Biggest dorado about 35lbs... smallest about 6lbs (only 2 little guys like that).

Hope all is well in Canadaland ! :)
