Who has Mexico on their minds.........?

Jesse V, he lives out on the East Cape, long story but have got to know him so we drop in when going by.

Puerto Vallarta first week of November for me. Really tempting to book a charter when down there. Anybody fished out of PV before?

I would suggest you get in touch with Capt. Lora - his boat is the Fortuna - runs out of Punta Mita - great fisherman! I don't have any contact info so you're on your own.

Going to Loreto Bay, which is about a 7 hour drive north of Cabo on the Sea of Cortez side, for most of January. Can't wait. Any fishing suggestions?

never been to mexico and have no desire to go there, i walk out my door and im in paradise so there is no point in my mind, plus i hate 30 degree weather, but to each their own, have at 'er......holmes*

I agree with the living in paradise thing big time holmes. I never take it for granted. Best place on earth. We just don't get those fish with the long bills and sail fins on them up here:D. My body doesn't like the heat that much but my brain does:confused::D. Besides I love the authentic food and the beer. It is probably one of the most affordable fishing destinations going as well.

I won't set foot Mexico till the beheadings and mass murders stop. The place is dangerous. Show up at a casino and 51 people get murdered ??? I'm quite aware how great the fishing is and have spent plenty of time there in the past on both coasts. But, after being robbed by a policia civil in Cancun and a close call in Mazatlan, I'm done with the place. Hasta la vista Mexico....

border towns and big cities have the worst problems. best stay out of Abbotsford too, most dangerous place in Canada. driven the Baja lots with not problems. We found if you operate in daylight hours and use common sense its about the same as here.

Like i said, the Baja is the only place in Mexico that doesn't have a travel advisory and hasn't had a tourist related death since the 80's. Saying your not going to Mexico because of what happened in one place is much like saying your not going to the California because there is a hurricane in Florida, doesnt make sense little research will give you the info you need.

I have been in worse situations on my way to Disneyland in LA, but everyone to there own. Plenty safe and can't wait to start my trip with my young family in two weeks. Always looking for people to share costs with Renegade Mike in Cabo so if anyone is coming that way, PM or email me and we can hook some fish and crack some beers.

The last time I was in Mexico - (earlier this year), 3 or 4 people were shot in broad daylight in front of a Casino in Kelowna. I've never had a problem in Mexico, but have had my 9.9 kicker stolen from my driveway in Victoria. There are plenty of safe places to go in Mexico. Be safe, stay under the radar wherever you travel.

I will miss my Mexico trips, I really like the regular people down there, but the risks are just too high for someone like me who is on the right side of the bell curve! Costa Rica, Belize, Nicaragua are all safer bets with awesome fishing too.
