As soon as I put a tasty Blacktail in the freezer I'm looking hard at a trip to Cabo man:cool:.
Fighting a sailfish in tropical weather is definately silly.......I agree with you there Lipripper:p:D.

On the bucket list Sculpin ... niece is getting married in PV, Oct 2012 ... to go or not to go? You had to post that link. :p

Hey Sculpin... had a blast last Nov out of san jose del cabo... yellowfins and a wahoo (accurate name for those speed demons!)... if you want details PM me. No sailfish experience though. If you do go for billfish, make sure you go with a no kill operation.

Lipripper It if is silly to be in 30+ weather, shirtless with tunes going, beverage in hand... and catching ridiculous hard fighting fish while SE storms and sideways rain wait for you at home, than I am indeed silly. j/k you are right, we live in one paradise, there are others out there though!
My bucket list includes the trips Capt. Josh posts about. I dream about that stuff.

Fishtofino has told me about two fantastic outfits that he has fished with in the past.

Punta Mita for me - Nov. 28 to Dec. 9, Dorado on light tackle with Capt. Lora in Fortuna - nice to be in a warm place for a while - makes the winter a little shorter.

Stay alert guys--- Mexico is getting scarier than ever, and its spreading to all parts of the country. Over 35,000 dead in the drug wars so far. and that includes a number of gringo touristas that were collateral damage. Last October I was in Acapulco-- although I have never seen so many 1 ton pickups with armor and .30 cal machine guns over the cab (Municipal policia) , army humvees with .50 cal on the turrets, and city police with sub-machine guns, there were still 2 druggie gun fights right outside the main malecon tourist hotels.

DONT underestimate what can happen.......

The beers a buck. The seafood is delicious. Sitting on the beach watching the girls go by. Give your head a shake.

On my way on the 13th October, not back till end of March. 50 miles Nort of Cabo on the Pacific side, ninth year in a row, love it! Hoping the fishing is good this year, tough year down there last year, very cold water all winter. Renegade Mike is great, fished with him before. Beauty Bertrum he runs and goes to where the fish are, look at his prices, can't beat them for Cabo.

As for saftey CL, the Baja is the only part of Mexico without a travel advisory. Hasn't been a tourist related death there since the 80's. The only gringos to go since then have killed themselves (suicide) or been drunk or high on something and fell or something like that. I take my family of 4, 7yr old girl and 3yr old boy, been taking them since the were born. Nothing to worry about! Not saying to hang out in downtown TJ on a Friday night but plenty safe down at the southern end and the fishing is insane.

Just bought pesos yesterday, 13 pesos to the CND dollar, with ice cold Pacifico costing 5 pesos that's 2.5 beer for a buck, 30 degree weather, can't beat it.

Always looking for fishing partners when I am down there so if anyone looking to split some costs PM me or send me and email.

Mexico was last year...this year think farther south...If you can't stand the heat stay out of the line of fire;) Hasta la Vista Gringos!!!...SS

East Cape Road area,Jeeping & fishing Dorado, Tuna, its all good. You never know who you are going to run into in Mexico
