White Springs

[Tips Up]

Seems like every year I get a more and more white springs in Sooke.
Used to get the odd 1... then more often. Last year I would say 1/3 and this year about 1/2 so far. Some days (Like Sunday) you seem to hit a run of them.

Anyone else??

I'm king of the whites and seem to get them everywhere. Bamfield, the Fraser, the Kitimat, doesn't matter. I've killed 14 springs this year and 7 have been whites.

I agree, seems like you get over a school of whites. 2 weeks ago half our fish were whites, on our trip this past weekend we only got one out of 18 that was a white.

Every year late July and first 2 weeks of August the whites move through Sooke. Heard it was the Harrison run, but where ever they are from it is a bonus. They pull the same and smoke great !!!

Hit a 32# white and a 14# red tonight just before 9pm at the trap. Lost a nice one as well. Did'nt see any pinks but we hooked some nice sized wild Coho in tight as well. All in all a good evening bite before the fog rolled in for a radar ride home... Fins, have you been out?
