Where does the NEW federal conservative government stand on BC fisheries?

Liberals jumped on the reconciliation band wagon with enthusiasm..... also protected areas, mmpas and closed areas for fsc only.

Yep, quite content to have coastal communities and those reliant upon fishery and other resources pay the price of entry to their reconciliation agenda. Which largely worked for most of urban Canada. Their calculus was simply to play to the urbanites and starbuck coffee crowd largely because rural Canada doesn't have the votes. Their mis-calculation appears to be no one was minding the store while they were content to fool Canadians they can have their cake and eat it too with no consequence. They seemed think that money grows on trees and tax payers have endless patience and deep pockets so long as they could keep the buy now, pay later bait and switch game going to distract voters. The jig is up, tax payers are broke.

This is over three years old now but perhaps gives some idea.

With our Pacific Salmon Strategy, Canada’s Conservatives will:
• Enforce a strict timeline for the completion of stock assessments;
• Prioritize funding for community-led habitat restoration or other projects thatsupport at-risk stocks;
• Ensure the Salmonid Enhancement Program is sufficiently resourced to support atrisk stocks;
• Increase support for and engagement with Indigenous- and community-led hatcheryand enhancement projects;
• Implement mass-marking programs at BC fish hatcheries and allowing mark-selective harvest of salmon in BC’s sport fishery, protecting sensitive fish populations while maintaining the health of BC’s public fishery;
• Create a pinniped management plan that will address threats to at-risk stocks in a balanced way; and
•Identify the likelihood of future threats due to climate change.

A Conservative government will:
• Maintain the decision to remove salmon farms from the Discovery Islands, but ensure the process is more respectful of local First Nations, communities, andworkers;
• Create a modern Aquaculture Act that can help restore public confidence;
• Strengthen monitoring requirements for salmon farms;
• Develop, in consultation with industry, First Nations, communities and other stakeholders, a comprehensive Salmon Aquaculture Management Strategy that addresses both the risks and opportunities of this sector; and
• Develop a tax incentive program for the development and adoption of technologies that reduce contact between wild and farmed salmon.

they don't have a publish platform and i don't even know if will see one before the election.

Given the state of the books, there is little chance the Cons will expand expenditures on fishery related issues.
The one thing they will likely do is back away from the reconcilation/FN agenda the Libs seems hell bent on implementing.
In the end, expecting positive results from politicians of any stripe is a rather large leap of faith IMO.

Here's where the NDP stand......https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/641877d4033d22539c992829/644589fb1c2d37b255e07e77_NDP_NFHC_EN.pdf

Looks pretty lame in terms of a response on some fairly straight forward questions - their big action is to close down 30% of Canada's marine water and lock it up inside an MPA, which is code for Exclusive Economic Zone. Great!

Couldn't find anything similar to the Conservatives engagements for the Federal NDP... that would be a hard NO vote for me.

Yet we keep voting in the BC NDP.

Federal NDP sure haven't been as invested in things that matter to outdoors and fishing enthusiasts to the same degree as the Federal Conservatives. Generally people, and in this case political parties, tend to put their money where their values and investments in time align.
