I have been asking around and trying to google it, but to no avail.

It was left in the boat by the old owner and I have been trying to figure out what they are and how are they used for fishing.

Probably something that I should know, but don't

Any guesses or better yet...explanation.

You slide them on your line and attach a round mooching weight to the snap swivel. The weight can then slide on you line as you fight the fish, or just unclip the weight while you run to a different spot.

I think they work great.

Right it's a slider for weights we also use them Sturgeon fishing so the fish picks up the bait without feeling the weight.

The tube ends are flared out so as to not hammer on the knot during the fight. [8D]

Great Guys and thanks for the info.

Next time any of you are up here on the North end of the Island and want them, let me know and I will meet up with you and pass them along. I have 7 and I know there is a few more kicking around. There is also a bunch of Buzz Bomb bumpers.

Cheers

We use them for river back-bouncing and estuary/bay chinook trolling where dropper lead is needed to keep regular contact with bottom.

Sliding weight also saves loosing fish on a net swing/miss if lead tangles in the net.

Have used those sliders before, although they are a little weak on the wire clip. If you are going to use those, suggest clipping off the stock wire and putting on a stonger setup (split ring, perlon, quick-snap etc). Also check your line often, as the braided line tends to get more wear when sitting on the bottom. I generally only use them in sandy or shale areas.

Slydo's where first used for Stripers & Sturgeon down in California late 1980's early 1990's.They where first introducted here about 1992 by the owner of the Breaker's in Point Roberts.Today they have spawned E-Z glides and a host of other version. They are used widely bye the lodge and guide industry for sturgeon /halibut/Salmon.
They're great if you do both downrigging and cut plug an quick change and your cut plugging or back to the rigger
:)

I have used them for at least 40 years anchor fishing for striped bass. One recommendation is to clip off the the little T piece of plastic. I think it is part of the mold, but line can hang on it of any slack.

Someone once told me that tag was to enable casting the rig-apparently if you wrap the line correctly it lets go once it hits bottom.

Sounded like a load of bull then still does now. [:o)]
