What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

Took all of the gear out of the cabin for a good spring cleaning.

Replaced drag washers on one of my Shimano 4000GT. Slipping big time last trip out.

Found and installed an update for my Garmin 740s GPS. A week ago the date and time went wonky. Was showing an hour late and the month and dates of Aug. Could change to the correct info for tides and current manually but it reverted back to August as soon as you changed screens. Pain in the butt but the update corrected everything.
What kind of boat is that?

Same pics every year at this time, big clean on the hull and inside. Next will be bringing it to the shop and wax. Over to Breakers for a service, and then the slip at Fairwinds. Then it starts, best time of the year!

Got it out on the water yesterday for the first time this season. Fired right up like a champ. Took it for a nice cruise up the Pitt River as a shakedown test to see if anything needs attention. Tested out the 6hp kicker with a new removable fuel tank (success - was an absolute pig to start on the fuel internal tank). Also tested the kicker with a steering lock and using the main as a rudder - worked 'ok' but it's hard to hold a heading and I can see this setup wouldn't work at all with any wind/chop - going to see about fabricating a removeable tie bar.

Drained the water separator, burned through half a tank of storage gas with no issues. Tried a new 17P Rebel prop, but fully trimmed out with a light load on glass smooth water I was fighting to get 5000rpms (42mph) at WOT - so no good. Too bad - the Rebel seems like a great midrange/cruising prop and provides a decent amount of stern lift right off the line (currently too much bow lift). Anyway, seems like the current 15P is the best I'm going to do in terms of top speed - but still hunting for a bit of stern lift.

Upcoming Projects this year:
- Repack trailer bearings, bleed trailer brakes and replace trailer bunks (I think mine are pressure treated and want to get rid of them before they cause any corrosion issues on the aluminum hull - so far the bottom paint/epoxy seems to provide enough of a barrier - and its only in fresh water but better to be safe)
- Replace bilge pump (was acting a bit weird)
- Possible water pump impeller replacement if I can get the time

Got my project boat out for a shakedown cruise. All went well on the first trip. Realized why I love outboards. Found a couple issues, fridge not working and kicker needs an impeller.
Second cruise spun the prop hub. Slow cruise back to the trailer
Hope she sells quick
