Can you please tell me a bit more about the cleaner you used?I'm now removing last summers below the water line brown stain from the hull. First pic shows how brown the sun side got and how the extra brite acid wash takes it off with a wipe from a scrub pad. The 2nd pic is after polishing and wax...ready for this summer.
muriatic acid. then re wax. try a product called On and Off. be careful with it.Can you please tell me a bit more about the cleaner you used?
My boat has a ugly brown stain below the water line from 10 years of mooring without any maintenance by previous owner. I have tried all sorts of stuff, but it does not seem to touch it.
Thanks! I will look for that and give it a try.muriatic acid. then re wax. try a product called On and Off. be careful with it.
Awesome, thanks!Don't put anti foul on it or you will have that cost every year. Not worth it if your boat spends more time on the trailer than at a dock. The stuff I use to easily clean of the staining is Alumabrite (Keith at Blackline Marine figures that is the name of it) Blackline uses it to clean gelcoat so they can do a proper colour match when doing repairs. That is how I discovered it years ago as I had my boat in for cosmetic gelcoat repairs from cannonball strikes on the hull. When I picked the boat up I noticed how perfect the hull looked as it was showing brown below the boot line. Like you I had tried many things and never got it all off and gave up thinking I would just have to live with it.
This works really well. Use it ever year on my water line and then buff and wax. It’s gel like so a little easier to use.Awesome, thanks!
muy simpático!Getting the T-top and bow rail together on the new boat, it's a 28 footer built by Embarcaciones Nava in Mazatlan. Will be hanging a pair of 140 Suzuki's soon.

Thank you. If your going to all that trouble you might as well prep it properly.Looks like really cleanly-done work. Nice job!
Thanks for the tip! Ive already redone the anti foul this year. For years never had to worry about the barnacles at china creek but now they're as bad as anywhereShep...30 years no foul paint and no barnacles..the trick is to pull every 30 days and bleach the bottom then rinse off. If you go longer than 30 days you will get barnacles starting to stick..and your kicker oil will be overdue for changing, your outboard greasable pivot points will be dry and your zinc will be overdue for a scrub to knock off scale. I pull every 30 days on a windy afternoon when the ramp is quiet, spray on the bleach then take it up to the local car wash to power wash the hull. Do the rest of the out of water maintenance before putting it back in...usually about a 2 hour job all total.
