The tail is the right colour for a Yellowtail Rockfish but not everything else-they actually look like something found a helluva long way from here.

Striped Seaperch. They have some stunning colours up close.

Yep, striped seaperch. I have dived Porteau Cove and there are a bunch suspended above the wrecks in 25-40’ of water.

Used to swing into reed pt marina and stealthy find an un used slip , black out the livewell with a couple dozen of those things and hammer away at thrasher , bigger the better . Now days easier to fill up a sabiki with sand dabs
