West side of Haida Gwaii

The west side is very technical, look at the geography of the land it tells you what is likely below. Kindakun Point at the top of Kano Inlet holds large Chinook but that spot would be difficult to manage without some knowledge. Lighthouse at Hippa and then Tian Head are nice but if you make it there I hope you make it to Freeman.

Hippa was my go to place for years, I also fished Tsau on the Salmon Seeker ,the west coast of Haida Gwaii is absolutely
incredible for both scenery and fishing, the run from the Seeker to the gap was about 25 minutes and we would fish the kelp beds
to the right once we got out of the gap, incredible fishing and the the best fight I ever had was here with a approx. 25 pound spring that
absolutely played me our after the 3rd run, i had to release that one but kept the memory.Hippa was just incredible in every way and really wish the lodge was still there, you could literally start fishing once you left the dock and it didn't matter what you were targeting you knew you
going to catch fish,i would head just north of Hippa for my Hali's and the down to Freeman for salmon, I never had so many double headers ever.
I would then fish the reef just west from Freeman for yellow eye and lings. Salmon were caught off the dock and as well as a fun night of squid fishing. If anyone was to dive Freeman rock he could probably retire selling the gear he could salvage that was lost on Freeman, you had to be aware of the depth changes when approaching the rock. The lodge, guides and staff were all incredible sadly I heard the lodge itself
was broken up on a move south for the winter, does anyone have the story behind this?
If you ever have a chance to fish this area do it!!!!!
Thanks for the memories!
