West Coast Charlottes 2009

Hey S.A.,

I am a guide at Englefield Bay, fishing is mediocore think about 50 springs where caught today, and some coho. Biggest springs were 30,30.7, and 39.4lb today, it is the Salmon Masters Tournament right now, so long days of all salmon fishing.

Perfect, I'm going to Englefield in 2 weeks.......YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Spring fishing is on and off presently, a 41.8 won the salmon masters, and the guide was tipped 40000, unreal, a guides dream. A 52 lb spring hit the dock today, weather is unbelievable, flat calm and hot.

Sounds like a dream. 52 lb spring and calm hot weather. Damn can't beat that unless you're a guide with that kind of tip. Did you mean to put 4 zero's behind the four? Hell that's a year salary for many people.

I'm not sure of the guide but it was caught at Englefield lodge. That would sure make your summer, a $40000 tip, not bad. Makes me want to go back up guiding again.[:p][:p]

Wow, Englefield has taken the largest fish 5 times now? I was at Englefield during the 2005 Salmon Masters (not as a participant). Englefield is a great place to fish. I remember hooking tons of 20lb springs while jigging for chicken halibut at KFC. Drop a whole herring down at Denham Shoals and you never know what you get, could be a 150 lb But or a 40lb spring.

The 40,000 tip does not surprise me considering the well heeled people that are in the derby. There's one guy Bill, from California who fishes Englefield practically the whole season. Some people just have too much money!

Chinook fishing is slow, with this high pressure NW we've had for a week now, some coho, pink and chums showing as well. Forecast is for more NW all week.

Chinook fishing has turned on,with decent numbers hitting the dock, as well Coho fishing is the best it has been in at least 6 years with average fish being 6-8lbsup to 12lbs,and its still early. Weather is also unbelievable for the west coast of the Charlottes flat calm sunny and warm.

Cinook still going strong with up to 20 chinook per boat per day , afternoon flood tide is the best. Non- stop action, with double and tripples being the norm.
