Okay, so I dug out two of those gold hoochies from the you-will-never-use-these-in-a-million-years storage, and one looks big enough to catch a monster. These work on the West Coast of the Island!? [:0]
At the same time I found a number of very spiffy silver ones and a pinkish one too. Any good? [8D]

The gold's aren't the 1st hootchies out of my box and aren't my "go to" hootchies. However, since my friend convinced me a few years back that they work off the west coast we have caught a number of fish on them. I know it seems weird but they do work.

Now that's a whole other thread, but not all monkey pukes are created equal. The Gone Fishin Port Alberni suggested a monkey puke which worked but the Courtenay store showed me a different one when I tried to replace it. Any pics now that top secrets are flying around
If it's the one we used last year out there, it outworked the other flashers 4-1. Problem is I threw mine overboard,(don't ask) and don't remember exactly which one it was. Something like a blue hot spot flasher with green and blue on the reflective tape.

Right click the photo, then click on "Save Photo As..." The file name is the hoochy number.

Haha! Hilarious! However, if his 'Chovie Roll gets his boat limited on 35lbers so he can get the heck out of the 10 foot swells, hideous wind chop and the 4 mph drift and back to the fire and Kokanees hours before you....while you're sluggin' it out looking for your last few fish...all the more power to him...

A properly rolled 'Chovy is like a stick of dynamite... it works everytime.
Hoochies, like Plugs, Spoons, and Chovies have a very important place in the gear lineup....
However, just think of the money we'd all save on gear if we all just ran bait? Simple hooks, simple bait, simple...simple..simple...
