Vintage Fishing Plug Identification

I am wondering if anyone can help me identify this plug. It has no markings on it whatsoever to help with ID and I’ve never seen this type of hook attachment system before. It appears to have a stiff wire inserted at the tail that captures the eyes of two swivels inserted through the holes in the bottom. And it appears to be made of Cedar.

Looks like a sparx. I have one that is somewhere between 1940 and 1960.

I went down the internet rabbit hole for a while and found a couple of examples of Wallace Highliner plugs with similar construction. They were well marked with the brand though.

Definitely could be a SparX

I have a few SparX plugs this a mint NIB with insert and single hook option that makes it a 100%. This is a 5 inch herring scale pattern. These are killer plugs, some commercial highliners from back in the day did very well with them.

I also have Wallace plugs, but I believe they may be branded on the belly. I will look for them on Saturday and report back.

As reported earlier all my Wallace plugs are belly branded. I believe the plug in question is SparX. I thought this from the get go.

Picked up a few more plugs from the local antique shops. One Tomic (no ID), one marked A-Hi, same as Ace-Hi?, and one marked Southeastern which I haven’t been able to find anything about yet. Any ideas?
The Southeastern has a unique attachment for the trailing hook.

That tomic looks fishy. I'd fish it the way it is first before pulling the pin or altering it. My 2 cents good luck!

I think I will try dragging that Tomic for a bit. It has two parallel ‘smiles’ on it indicating a hook change during its service.

Ace Hi is from Silver Horde. USA

I was hoping you might chime in. So A-Hi is the same as Ace-Hi as I suspected?

That's my million mile an hour mind doing 100 things at once for ya. LOL - Yes, Southeastern.

The Southeastern brand was often associated with wood or early plastic lures specifically marketed for the Pacific Northwest and Alaska commercial and sport fleets. Made popular in Alaska. I will dig deeper in my books tonight for any branding or business life time info.

Some of my old plugs. One has a ball of Mercury in it? Others are lake plugs I suspect.
