Vancouver Boat Launches versus Fishing spots

I'd like to start taking my 14 foot Welded Cope out on the saltchuck in the coming monthes. I think I am pretty realistic about what my boat can and can not do as well as I will pay close attention to the weather as I fish. What I'd appreciate are some recommendations from you guys (don't need GPS coordinates) on a few boat launches relative to locations to fish - for example Sunset Marina and Hole in the wall which are in close proximity to each other.

Sunset - Launch rates are very expensive. $26 or $28.

Ambleside - Free to launch and park. Fishing along West Van.

Kits Point - $12 Fish along freighters, the bell, Qa and West Van.

Just to name a few.

Scott, I can't wait to see it. The whaler is great. It's been lot's of fun and so far pretty successful catching fish with.
