I've seen him around the harbour on the "wire". Seemed alright but highly doubt the halibut action...there's even a pic of a bin with a bunch of springs and a chicken.

There is decent halibut in Sidney these days, so I'm sure with a bit of a run from vancouver you could find a butt or 2.

ok well "decent" is relative but I know of 1 boat that does well. I'm just saying its possible he catches a couple butts.

But at the same time most consumers realize you get what you pay for..especially in the tourism industry. Usually those undercutting aren't the best outfits anyway...
Let them undercut if they choose...so be it, I don't think it effects those of us who provide a good product.

I really don't think the prices are that off for an open boat inshore salmon charter. It's really not far off rom $75 an hour that a lot of boats in Sooke charge, for what what is considered better then average fishing opportunities.
