Union Bay to Qualicum River

Thinking about doing a run down to Qualicum River from the Union Bay launch and was wondering what kind of time this will take by boat doing 25 knots around? And if anyone would like to comment on whether or not it is worth the trip or not would be appreciated also. Any action down there?

All I know is that it would be around 20 mins-25 mins from Deep bay...So I would say double that...Probably close to an hour is my educated guess.

I have a similar boat and it takes me 50 min from Union bay at 25 knots. But a more fuel friendly trip is to launch at Deep Bay. I have not made the run yet this year... but if you check some of the other threads it is starting to happen.

Thanks guys. That's what I figured. I have a pass at Union Bay so I rather not pay the 12$ to launch at deep bay and look for parking. I will giver her a go tomorrow.

What gets me is driving to Deep Bay. You drive south past every thing then head north back to the launch and then further north to get around Maple Guard Point and all of sudden your almost back at ships point. If you figure out the wasted time driving, the extra fuel in the truck and boat, plus the $12 launch fee it's not worth it.
