Those won't work up here buddy LOL. Ha ha tackle *****'s unite. I'm totally kidding as anything will work if they are biting (they will eat the paint off the bottom of the boat if they are in feeding mode).
Heading down in about a week and I am not buying any tackle as it won't work up here (I don't know that).
Just going to clobber BIG Yellowfin tuna and hopefully some bill fish. It is between two major derbies so it should be HOT!!!
Ready to bring back some Yellowfin Tuna for eats for sure. Maybe some Dorado as well but I will be happy with just bringing back some Ahi.
So close I can taste it already. LOL. Taking the camera and GoPro with me.
Good luck down there! lots of pictures please. Some close-ups of the fish you catch would be nice. those yellow fin are beautiful.
About the small tuna lures I just posted: the last day I got em out there we used a small mexican and it caught most of the fish. regardless of weather it is necessary i now can not fight the urge to get more of them in many other colors especially for 4 buck each!! I have a problem....i know.
They got an even bigger one the 2nd day...251 i believe for 3rd overall but was dominated by a 372 lber!![MrIZ706DR7I] http://youtu.be/MrIZ706DR7I
That's a big yellowfin!!!
I hope to take some good shots. I really like the looks of those little feather lures. I probably will pick up a few. The mexi flag ones look killer for sure. I think it's a good problem to have LOL.
Those Dorado are fun -beautiful too-we took 12 yesterday between 2 pangas and 4 fishermen at Bahia de los Suenos just north of Los Barriles. You ain't seen nothing until you see a 30 lber come 6 feet clear of the water. Caught on live bait drifting-reminded me of how we used to do coho-no weight-just a hook, live bait and that's it!!!
That's how we get most of our striped marlin.......sight casting a live bait with no weightsThose Dorado are fun -beautiful too-we took 12 yesterday between 2 pangas and 4 fishermen at Bahia de los Suenos just north of Los Barriles.
