Trollmaster Recall

yes, it seems to refer to running the trollmaster wires near a high voltage source, that may refer to 110volt, but they do not specify what they mean by high voltage. I could find nothing on their website under Safety and product notices

I'm mulling over getting a Trollmaster Pro 2 with the dial to hard wire a control box rather than a remote control system. Interested in hearing any feedback on how well they work in terms of maintaining a constant speed. Also interested if anyone has experienced issues with these units.

they do work well assuming you have installed it correctly but can be finicky sometimes as well. Ive heard that even the itroll can be a pain too but still makes life sooooo much nicer at the helm to adjust those min throttle bump ups.

My trollmast 3 with the remote has been great. Eats batteries but other than that it's great.

I've been looking for one, well actually ShipHappens has been trying to find me one. No luck yet. Had one on my last boat and loved it.

Hey guys, the trollmaster wired version is hard to get right now. I was told to wait and they are coming out with a new product. I can make a phone call again and see where they are at.

There could be old stock in the states available. If someone really wanted one you'll most likely have to find it through one of the bigger outfits like cabelas etc. It will be old stock if they have one.

I'm going down to a Sea Hawks game soon, will stop in at Cabalas for a look. Leaning to the simplicity of the wired version 2 and staying away from a remote control unit

My wireless trollmaster. 3 is quite problematic. like mentioned already it eats batteries like candy and i often get the dreaded “ chinese”
readout, which is a bunch of garbled gibberish. I reached out to CMP to get a new remote and was told i had to buy an entire unit. He had no answer when i told him they had no problem selling a separate servo motor….
anyways when it decides it’s gonna work it’s awesome. but sometimes it doesn’t wanna play nice. it often will die even with new batteries and i have to remove the battery cover and spin the batteries and it will start up again.

anyways the neighbour has the wired version and it works flawlessly. i would avoid the wireless

Spark plug wires and coils are high voltage.

I've had the wired Trollmaster for about 5 years now. It's worked well, does what it says. Just be aware consistent throttle opening doesn't always mean consistent speed over ground or through water, wind and current can affect both of those. What you definitely get is the ability to make tiny adjustments to throttle setting, better than anything you can do with the kicker's throttle lever. Easy to turn it up say 4 points as you come into the wind and then down 4 when turning downwind. Or whatever works to get those rigger cables at the right angle.

Install was straightforward, you need be sure you have the right model for your kicker as the linkage itself is engine specific.
