Hey guys, looking for the best way to transport a couple 115’s with no crates,
Hoping to use my pick up,
A pallet some wood and build a crate?
Build a mounting bracket from wood and mount the motors?

Anyone done this and have any suggestions?

Thanks

Do you have access to a trailer? After transporting a 150hp in my 6.5 inch f350 bed, I imagine putting two on a flatbed two axle trailer, if you can find one, would be a good way to transport. Alternatively one in your bed on the crate/tray laying down and the second on a trailer. I'd call the dealers and ask if they have any of trays, I think they unbolt the crate part? I personally wouldn't want to stack one upon the other in the back of my truck.

I think I can put them side by side
Or just take the boat over there and mount them right away

The trays are pretty wide, if you built a platform over the wheel wells they might fit?

If didn't have to take the boat over on the ferry I would have towed the boat there and got the dealer to mount it, as fun as it was using a buddies excavator and 3 of us learning how to do it.

Maybe phone Bridgeview or other dealers and see if they have any of those crates sitting around? I'm sure they get rid of them all the time. Grab two of them and see if they fit in your truck. Mine was on a pallet just like Tbeam so that must be the bottom of the factory crate.

I’d rather not call around or have to drive there to pick something up that I can put together pretty easily

I can fit a pallet between my wheel wells, I’m going to measure them up and see if I can fit both on one pallet,

just get a 4" fence post and bolt it across 2 pallets with a couple of deck bolts. mount the motors on the fence post like a transom. done.

You have a trailer for the boat? Why not peel the outgoing ones off here, tow the boat and bolt them on? Ya money for the ferry but safe and sound. Pallet works...I just saw my new one last week. Merc ships them in a steel crate thats open. Dealer must return or they face a 600 core charge.

Sorry by open I mean its a metal frame and wrapped in heavy duty mylar.
