Hi guys, I am in located in victoria. My son and i would like to tour a local hatchery to see how things run, and also volunteer. So it would have to be on the lower part of the island. I've tried to find some info on the Jack Brooks hatchery, in regards to tours or hours, but I can't find much. I did get some info, such as how to volunteer. I am going to go to the next meeting on sept 12.
Any ways, any info on any hatchery that we could visit would be great!
Thanks in advance,

You could contact Peter McCully, hatchery manager, at the Howard English Goldstream Hatchery. The hatchery's phone is 250-474-6698. There is a crew there most days of the week
for at least part of the day. Someone there should be able to arrange for you to meet them for a tour. They may also be looking for additional volunteers during the upcoming salmon
spawning season.

Jack Brooks is neat and people are very nice. I think they said they have to feed the coho fry every 30mins (?) for 6 or8 hours a day! so they need alot of volunteers! while there I volunteered for the coho clip this year, great for kids. They should be collecting brood stock for next year so Im sure they will be looking for volunteers soon.

Thanks very much guys for the info and the contacts. I will be contacting the people and the hatcheries listed.
Thanks again!!
