Tomic Plug Tips?

Tomic has unfortunately raised their prices on their items and retailers have as well. A Tubby goes for $16.99 at Berry's. The plugs are worth the money, however, better deals are to be found with old stock out there.

Plugs are great, however, hoochies and spoons are cheaper and will outfish plugs on many occasions. Plugs sure are fun tho...set 'em and forget 'em...and when you get your fish on, hang on!

Get some lighter colored plugs in the popular colors and you're off to the races.

I don't have very much experience with plugs and I'm wondering if they are as effective inside the inlets vs offshore. I've only tried them when offshore (with little success as I rigged it wrong). I guess another question is do pilchards move up into places like Nootka sound?

Lots of pilchards part way inside Nootka last year (San Carlos area, but not as far as Pr. Royal Pt. first week of August). Fish usually have empty stomachs in there so it's more of an agitation thing inside maybe. White hootchies and watermelon spoons were the ticket. I think Holmes uses plugs inside.
