The New Adventure Begins!

aah and so the demographic shift begins.
soon we will all be resting on our king sized boat beds or leather sofas on lithium powered boats with at least 6 chartplotters catching fish on automatic reels with the press of a button while cruising across oceans.
the future is luxury on the ocean with the odd fresh fish on the induction powered cooktop. you heard it here first, folks. dont forget to bring your autopilot. also congrats on the new boat. also add some more screens. you need at least a 32" 12VDC industrial HDMI monitor for movie night.

My wife keeps asking those reels

I have pawed all over that video of your new boat. I think it’s awesome!
A super comfy cruiser that will be easy to fish out of. That side door is nice too, without making it a narrow walk around.

And I’ve thought of the first upgrade for you that you will love! The Lowrance Outboard Pilot will match up with the Simrad that I think this boat has. Best thing we did to our boat was install this a few years ago. We are at Burrard Civic if you want to see the install or see it working.

AP is top of the list!

For salmon fishing? Ideal for squid/black cod and Hali/dogfish.

How many Scotty outlets you upgrading to @Rain City ? I still need to add the blue seas cigarette lighter for my cockpit to run the fridge I bought off you, oh and to install the solar I bought to power it!
She hates when they fight lol

Fabulous multipurpose boat!

GET THE BALANCING SHAFTS INSPECTED!!!

FYI here's a good summary of the balancers and the parts revisions over the years. Looks like the 2014 motors on this boat should have the newest version. Hopefully you've found a knowledgeable Yamaha mechanic for the mechanical survey and can discuss this with them.

Did having a similar boat to the one you have the deposit on half a dozen boats away from where your slip is influence your decision? You would’ve walked by it many times.
It made me more skeptical about even looking at this one actually. First thing I've seen on a few of these, as well as the Cutwaters, is caulking all over the windows. They have known leak issues. Turns out, it's on the American built ones and not the ones built in Poland like the one I'm looking at. The other thing was I always found the 795 to be quite cramped looking. The difference in space between the 855 and that one at Burrard is pretty amazing actually. I crawled all over that thing trying to find something to dislike and I was pretty satisfied. My wife sent me the listing and asked me to go look at it. I actually hated how much I liked it after the viewing. I knew I'd be spending more than I wanted to lol. It is SO BRIGHT when you go inside. And with the big doors at the back, the sliding door at the helm and the sunroofs open, it damn near feels like you're in a fully open boat. Blew me away

Nice. The offset cabin with the walk around just on the driver side is quite a smart idea. Plus the one at the marina was quite a mess, cannot believe how poorly it was kept.
