Taylor River???

Well...this is a big step; my first post in the freshwater forum.

I have a question; as I was heading back from Tofino yesterday we stopped in at the little "rest area" by the Taylor River. (maybe 30K west of Alberni)

What fish are in there? I didn't climb down the bank to get closer but I did see quite a few fish just hanging out in the pool there. I wasn't sure if the Taylor dumped into the ocean and they were salmon of some kind (as two were exhibiting some spawning type behaviour) or were they some sort of trout. That area by the rest area must of had 30-40 fish that I could see spread out across the river.

Thanks for anyone who can provide some insight. I was just curious.

Not sure how big the fish you saw were but they could be sockeye. I have seen them in there this time of year.

That could likely be it. I was thinking Chum or Coho's...wasn't sure about socks but they were pretty dark.
