Taking a toddler fishing?

I started my girls very young, just fishing for trout for a few hours here and there. My older girl who's in her 20's still comes with me once in a while just to get a kick out of watching the old man being all giddy in his happy place. LOL
My 14 year old girl on the other hand loves her fishing. She's good at it too. Runs the gear and plays fish like like a champ then guts them when we're done. It makes me proud to watch her.

Being 14, I'll probably lose my fishing buddy for a few years soon, but she'll come back to it later. I KNOW the seed is planted.

Thanks for all this info! I'm about to take my 2.5 year old son out this summer on a friend's boat and was wondering if someone can recommend a style of PFD for him? He's on the smaller side, about 25 lbs.

I bought my girl hers at Canadian tire, lots to chose from.
