Stuck 9.9 tilt tube

i have a 9.9 Yamaha high thrust ant it is really hard to move it up or down any good ideas to get the tube free.

Maybe lay it on its side ( the side your supposed to lay it on) remove the end cap and keep pouring penetrating oil on it and let gravity take it inside to eat up the crud.

Usually it results from old grease that solidifies in the tube.
I would hold a torch to it until the grease starts to melt and then slowly pump fresh
grease in to the zerk.
