I agree with Searun. At least you would see less fish coming in jigged by the tail and then get released to die after a 30 minute fight against a jigger and an egg beater from zellers...
I used to see action for river coho with a smaller blue/white bucktail retrieved on the surface very fast (create a wake), they would hammer it. It has been a few years since I last tried for river coho.
