2025 Central Coast Reports

Good acuate report from what ive seen. I have seen alot of guys using small skinny g's hooking more fish than us but lots of small fish so I assume mostly pinks..the bait in the water is mostly smalls yup..bigger baits up north coast earlier this year cant figure that out.

In the past week we have been hitting good to great fish sticking to the basics with 2 hooks and a blue label herring. Less bites but fish are nice 15-22lb and uppp ;). I haven't noticed an abnormal amount of pinks but those little bastards love flasher and skinny Bs. Coho bycatch has been consistent. 8-10lb with the very odd 14lb in the mix.

Tomic Plugs, superior spoons and herring has been the only thing on our lines. With the latter being the "go to" until we run out.

Anyone fished rivers recently and willing to share a report?

Cheers!
Now ya tell me lol! Thanks for the advice, next year for this guy.

Got to troll faster and/or switch to 6” spoons to clear those pinks. Spent many summers up there and even with cut plugs, as soon as you slowed down or did a turn, pinks were on it. They are generally pretty lazy and fishing faster and bigger gear can help.
Thanks, good to know I will give that a go next time. A buddy at DFO told me they are expecting 45,000,000 pinks in bc this year so it sounds like pinks could be a bit of problem everywhere this year. I have seen alot of pinks before but nothing like this. In hind sight we should have finished up our limits with them and did some smoked/canning. Whoops 😬

Im sorry! Bait is expensive, if you can find lodge pack its cheaper or even the lower grades. Its also a pain in the butt with the gelly fish. We found majority of fish away from the packs and 40-60ft 1.5-2mph

Stopped in at the head rivers for a couple days to meet up with friends-got lucky with sunshine.

However as expected Pinks made things difficult being so conctrated and so close to the surface. It didnt take long before I got annoyed and threw down a tomic Plug of the stern-running out of bait was a reality. 6 pulls 6 oz 6ft leader..mid to high 50s wow so much fun. I just turned the engine off and enjoyed every minute of it.

We basically gave up after that, saw typical fishing for head, 30 boats on avg about 4-6 fish caught every morning.

The larger fish we caught was nite bite. 845pm about 30 min after high slack.
