I believed they spawned in the outflow in Bever lake. I think that’s the headwater for Colquitz creek. It’s been really cold this year, which might explain slow fishing. Lots daphnia and trouts are forging on them, which makes tough fishing also.Elk was 47, windy, rainy and fish scattered around Tuesday morning. Managed to land a beat up 16" kelt rainbow for the effort.
Anyone know if they spawn in the creek?
Brought 7 to the canoe on Saturday over a couple hours @ Prospect dragging around microleeches. Missed a bunch. Midday action, for the most part. Didn't take any temp measurements. Lots of chironomids coming off.I believed they spawned in the outflow in Bever lake. I think that’s the headwater for Colquitz creek. I have seen trout in the creek next to the Brookleigh launch. I believe there’s a good chance some spawn in there. Triploids apparently feel no need to spawn. They just swim, eat and grow.Elk was 47, windy, rainy and fish scattered around Tuesday morning. Managed to land a beat up 16" kelt rainbow for the effort.
