Just to let you know there is talk of having a speed limit in Sooke Harbour set at 5 kph. It would be limited at Whiffen Spit light. This is all do to the people that do not care about other peoples boats and docks. The increase boat traffic from the new boat launch and commercial crab boats has increased wear and tear on the docks and boats tied to the docks.
We are lucky not to have restrictions like most harbours that are strictly enforced. I would hate to cruise from the far end of the basin at 5 kph. It would take you about 45 minutes I think most people just want a little respect for there property.
It is just like fishing at the points, you don't go full speed through the pack of boats fishing or do you!
