smart craft gauge not connecting to my motor

I have some issues with my new to me motors and my smartcraft 8.0 gauges. I just installed a pair of merc 115’s, the starboard motor hooked up fine with my gauge but the port counter rotating motor is giving me a lost communication error, I’m assuming it’s because my old port motor was RH. I tried doing a system reset but I’m still getting this message, now it just says starboard motor not detected.
Do I need someone with a mercury diagnostic scanner or is this something I can do myself with my gauge buttons?

I know my motor I fought the same thing I ended up buying some software online diacom to do my own programming and I can pull up my codes and test. It’s not cheap but well worth it. I am a true mercury fan so I don’t need to worry about having to buy different software.

Just got it done at TNA marine in Langley, charged me 80 bucks, awesome service, they took me in right away at a moments notice, both motors started up right away, my emergency is their emergency 😍, looks like I found a marine shop that treats their customers like I would treat mine, got a pair of enertia’s yesterday - thought they were used, ended up being spares that never seen the water 😍, just waiting on my hub kits for tomorrow and I should be able to hit the water again, it’s like Christmas all over again 😁

Next time you're there in the summer ask Kevin to have your boat detailed while you wait. You'll see where the name comes from 😬
