Single hook hoochy......

JWC-You can almost never re- open a hook which had an open eye. Has nothing to do with cheap or not-has to do with the stress to the metal. Disaster awaits to all who try no matter the make!!!

Good tip, I might add you want to close the eye in one motion. If it takes multiple tries to get it fully closed you'll weaken the metal.

Neagative just picked up at the pirate sale... thought it looked groovey...Supertackle tackle hootchie..3" was just still playin with the beads..n stuff.., just tied it.. this one?

Thanks again for the tips guys, every bit helps, i was going to go with this behind my new Super Betsy on one side, I notcied it was one of the first hootchies to empty off the rack at the pirate sale, (bunch of pirates cant be wrong) ,...oh Duh you meant further left..no i'll tie that one too...

Jeffy.......in your first pic, it was the hoochy on the extreme left I'm referring to....if that is the same one.
It looks green/yellow.

In spoons , the green/bright yellow combo is known as the "Mongoose" pattern....and it is often good on ECVI.

Your hoochy in the first pic far far left looked like "Mongoose' pattern......I've never tried it in a hoochy myself, only spoons....but you never know.......Cheers

these are the hootchies you were taking about, i found some really interesting patterns from Supertackle hootchies, all these spoons here have given me luck out front over the years, top would have to be the flat silver n bright green coyote spoon, can never seem to go wrong with green, Any others must have spoons for E.C.V.I. am all ears but these are some of the spoons i keep two of., not sure why the hootchie picture showed when we were talkin spoons..

For the naysayers, this weekend was a prime example of why I use tandems on the ECVI. No undersize, two hits, two fish landed and both were hooked well. Poor quality pic but you can see one hook is in the corner of each jaw. Both fish were like this.

Kelly.......looks like Green/White is working for you again as usual............nice fish!!

As far as naysaying goes.....for spoon naysayers....notice that in the JWC's spoon pic, the TKO comes with a factory barrel swivel up front....and so does the Titan (blue/silver).

Seafever the Silver n green spoon i was talking about is in the middle , it has a flat silver finish, almost like a cheap aluminum spray paint, it was all the rage about 10 years ago, it seems the bright green has lived on, but i think some people might overlook that one, it is between the kitchensink and armytruck glow, i have it in 3 inch with an almost fish scale pattern, i have a few of them in my box that have been hit so much that the green paint is almost gone..

Jeffy......oh....sorry... you mean flat silver (like dull aluminum) on the back side of the spoon?

Speaking of ten years back......there used to be a spoon called the "Herring Scow"......nothing on it....just flat silver both sides like dull aluminum.....was hot for a couple or three years......

Yes i really like Titan spoons.. They are a good quality , unlike some of the ones made overseas.. They have almost all the patterns of the coyote spoons too

i use the vise grip cutter to get them off, and all the hooks i buy are open eye, close them in one squeeze or you will weaken the metal.
