Shickwaves are great, no question. But they are very proud of them ($$$). I went with 4 Scandinavian Seat Suspension bases this build. A buddy has a pair on his 34’ and they’ve been great. They come out of Vietnam, but don’t have a North America distributor yet. At least I don’t think so. I was able to go direct. Even with shipping, the base, swivel, and slide were 1/2 the price of Shockwaves.
Well, I guess then I should approach them to see if they can re-powder coat mine.Shockwave stands behind their product and they are locally produced in Sidney BC . If you have ANY problems or are dissatisfied in any way , they will make it right. Stand Up Guys
I may be wrong but it looked like you had corrosion around the bolt that was used to install into your boat and didn’t isolate the stainless steel from the aluminum. How is that shockwave problem?Well, I guess then I should approach them to see if they can re-powder coat mine.
the powder coat is the isolator if done correctlyI may be wrong but it looked like you had corrosion around the bolt that was used to install into your boat and didn’t isolate the stainless steel from the aluminum. How is that shockwave problem?
That is a possibility, though the seat was mounted with nylon washers. I followed the installation instructions, which provides s/s bolts and washers. Nylon washer was my idea. I suppose the Shockwave folks could supply nylon inserts and mounting bolts. Double checked their mounting instructions - they say to use the provided s/s bolts etc.I may be wrong but it looked like you had corrosion around the bolt that was used to install into your boat and didn’t isolate the stainless steel from the aluminum. I noticed vevor has a tractor type seatWondering if there are
any cheaper alternatives to the Shockwave base? Knockoffs? Way to rich for me.
I installed Smooth Moves suspension in my seats a few years ago. I did it to save on the build as the same combo of suspension and adjustability (swivel base, fore-aft adjustment) would have cost me multiples more with Shockwave. I like them ok, but the main disadvantage is there is no active rebound dampening so you really need to dial in the tension for your weight which I have found to be through trial and error. Would I do it again? Maybe, but probably not. I would probably go with Shockwave or something like Wavepro. https://smoothmovesseats.com/product/smooth-moves-air-boat-seat/Wondering if there are

Looks pretty decent for the price. The shock looks generic and probably doesn't have rebound dampening. You could probably replace that with a decent Fox Float DPS shock with adjustability for around $350 and upgrade it that way... and try and buy it without the shock for a savings.![]()

Has anyone tried these? I'm looking to upgrade and came across them
It’s still a thousand bucks after tax. Looks way cheaper than a s5 in not a good way. Pay the extra 500 at that point![]()

I took a guess and googled the most likely name “Shockery-Doo” nothing came up. I’m out of ideas.I saw another one out of Australia today that actually looked as nice, if not nicer than the Shockwaves. Very similar design though and no idea on price. Forgot the name unfortunately.
The seat slide and swivel version is $3,650 AUD which is about $3,250 CAD. Without the swivel is $3,050 AUD. It makes the Shockwave bases seem like a much better deal at just over 2K for base and swivel!Found em' . Salti Bliss. I was impressed by how compact the swivel and slide mechanisms were.

Yes, fished yesterday on padded tractor seats in a friend’s boat. Works, probably not as effective as the more deluxe seats, but fits most budgets. I think the seats are from an agricultural supply company in the Fraser Valley.Wondering if there are
